We are having an absolutely brilliant time in Barcelona. We arrived late last night to a midnight feast in the hotel. After our snacks we soon settled into our hotel rooms. The flight was lots of fun, we had games of chess, monopoly and cluedo and some people even managed to read a comic or magazine.
Today we woke up very early after a few hours sleep to start our first day. After a delicious breakfast we headed down to the coach station to begin the trip. We drove into Barcelona and saw some of the famous sights, our tour guide for the coach, Mr Larkin from St Patrick’s gave us some information about buildings, monuments and public spaces. We disembarked at Montjuic to take in the stunning views from El Mirador across the city before taking a stroll down Las Ramblas. Whilst we were there we spoke Spanish to order some delicious ice creams. We then got back on the bus to go to Park Guell which was designed by the famous artist Gaudi.
We returned to the coach to travel to Camp Nou the home of Barcelona Football Club, the tour took us through the stadium, into the press box and even into the away dressing room. Some of us pretended to be footballers and interviewed each other as if we had just finished a game.
Finally we finished the night with another delicious meal, we then went to the local beach to burn off some energy, playing football and playing beach games.
We are now all tucked up in bed ready for another fun packed day tomorrow.
P.S. Thank you for all of the messages you have sent on Twitter and Facebook, we are all missing you too however we are not missing the miserable weather at home!
